STAR Cement Co L.L.C, an associate company of ETA-ASCON and is an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company, is the foremost cement manufacturer in the Middle East, Africa & Asia, with a total installed capacity of 3.9 million metric tones per annum (MTPA). The company started with the supply of clinker, the major raw material used in cement manufacturing. As expertise and capabilities grew, the company ventured into manufacturing cement as a forward integration.

Today, STAR Cement has state-of-the-art cement manufacturing facilities at Ajman and Abu Dhabi in the U.A.E., Bahrain, Bangladesh and a cement terminal at Sudan. The Ajman plant alone has the production capacity of a staggering 1.1 million MTPA. Currently STAR produces a comprehensive range of cement produces such as Portland cement, Sulphate Resistant Cement, Portland Limestone Cement, Pozzolona Fly Ash Cement and White Cement.

The plants procures high quality clinker from reputed international manufacturers. The manufacturing process combines the latest Japanese and German technologies with management expertise to ensure high standards of operation and maintenance.

The plants have implemented superior Quality Assurance and safety in accordance with STAR standards. Strict quality control is achieved by a well-equipped laboratory that monitors the manufacturing process at every stage. The laboratory is fitted with an advanced X-Ray Analyzer to ensure maximum accuracy in producing high quality, high-strength cement.

BUILDING THE FUTURE

The global construction industry has been growing at a rapid rate, and the Middle East in particular is witnessing an unprecedented surge in building activity. Starting from the late 90s, this boom has given a tremendous thrust to the cement and building materials industry.

It was in anticipation of this trend that STAR Cement moved from raw material supply to cement manufacturing, a decision that has proved itself to be a farsighted one. Today, the company is all set to consolidate its dominant position in the Middle East market, and aims to increase production capacity to 3 Million MTPA. The company is also looking at setting up integrated plants to produce clinker to service its own requirement.
